Organized by Grupo Vivejar, a national reference in community-based tourism, the Forum is sponsored by Embratur and Instituto Bancorbrás, with support from Fundtur and CNC; institutional backing from Coletivo MUDA!; and academic partnership with LETS at the University of Brasília

Tourism in Brazil needs a new direction — and the 1st Brazilian Forum on Responsible Tourism was created to mark this turning point. From September 11 to 14, 2025, Brasília will become a space for listening, learning, and collaboration in defense of tourism that respects people, territories, and the planet. More than just an event, the Forum is a collective call to action: it’s time to put social, environmental, and cultural responsibility at the heart of the decisions that move the tourism industry forward.

Over four days, traditional communities, entrepreneurs, communicators, researchers, and tourism professionals will come together to build pathways toward a fairer and more sustainable future. The program will be diverse and dynamic, featuring plenary sessions, roundtables, soft skills workshops, and cultural experiences that inspire both reflection and action. Each activity is designed to strengthen the voices of those who, for years, have been transforming tourism into a tool for resistance and for generating income in local territories.

With more than 200 participants expected from all over the country, the Forum will also be a stage to showcase local and grassroots production. The Cultural Fair will bring together artisans, collectives, and small entrepreneurs, while the Responsible Tourism Showcase Award will honor initiatives that are creatively, inclusively, and positively transforming realities. The program also includes a technical visit to the Kalunga Quilombola Community in Cavalcante (GO) — offered at an additional cost and with limited spots — reinforcing the importance of valuing those who make tourism happen at the community level.

Conceived by Grupo Vivejar, the Forum is the result of the mobilization of networks, movements, and organizations that believe tourism is a powerful tool for social and environmental transformation. The goal is clear: move from words to action, foster connections, strengthen partnerships, and inspire new practices for more ethical and regenerative tourism.

The event is sponsored by Agência Brasileira de Promoção Internacional do Turismo (Embratur) and Instituto Bancorbrás; supported by Fundação de Turismo de Mato Grosso do Sul (Fundtur) and Confederação Nacional do Comércio de Bens, Serviços e Turismo (CNC); with institutional support from Coletivo MUDA! and an academic partnership with Laboratório de Estudos em Turismo e Sustentabilidade (LETS) at Universidade de Brasília (UnB).
